Yale week 7 :: of art shows and spontaneity

There’s something to be said about talking to the camera.

Working under the same intuition that made me insist on candid, photo journalistic shots for my wedding photos, I have come to realize that I photograph best when I’m not posing.

So no offense to KS#1 who meant well and has a kickass camera, but I want to break from her pictures and showcase these since I had a great venue (back at Green for this session’s Art Show) and a discerning photographer (go, Emily!).

I don’t know whether it’s because I’m finally feeling better after a four-day sickfest, or whether it’s because I am soon to be reunited with my beloved closet, or whether Emily just makes me smile. But whatever the reason, I feel loads happier today.

I look twelve in these pics, I think, because of the headband/braid/midi skirt/Chucks combo. The oversized sweater was a last-minute addition when I looked out the window this morning, but it does nothing to mitigate the juvenile aspect of this ensemble.

Totally digging how I inadvertently matched the headband to the skirt.

Then again, I feel giddy today so I really don’t give a hoot. Ever have one of those days when nothing anyone says can get you down?

Top – Merona @ Target
Sweater – H&M

  2. So totally cute but do you think it’s work appropriate? Or do you think I’d lose clout with the kids by looking like a kindergarten teacher?

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
