Totally milking it right now and loving life.
Today, I present yet another pencil skirt outfit. And I felt so audacious this morning that I actually left behind the cropped blazer I’d planned on wearing.
Hello, world! Look at my arms!
But my audacity doesn’t stop there, my friends! Take this top – it has been in the cull pile more times than I can remember because it’s sheer and clingy and not very forgiving. If I eat the wrong snack product or drink one glass too many of water, forget about wearing this number without looking bloated.
I’ve kept it, though, because it’s a Max Studio and I have a particular fondness for this brand. And I chose to wear it today because I love how the hem detail contrasts really nicely against the light pink of the skirt. However, if I was truly honest, I’d have to admit that part of my boldness stems from knowing that I’m wearing an inordinate amount of shapewear; so much so that I might as well be Joan of Arc, that’s how much armor I’m sporting underneath all this body-hugging glory.
Remind me to do a weekend post on the awesomeness that is Spanx.
And because of Spanx, I can actually wear two bodycon pieces. Normally, if I wear something tight up top, I have to mitigate it with something unstructured or looser on bottom and vice versa. Today’s va-va-va-voomness is a product of my continued celebration of my not gaining the weight I thought I had at Yale.
Fine, fine…I promise to stop being so insufferable about it eventually. But you gotta admit that this skirt looks damned good with this top.
:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
Top – Max Studio @ Marshall’s
Skirt – F21
Shoes – Adrienne Vittadini
Necklace – Vera Wang @ Kohl’s
And from my world of random (and thanks to Sarah Solar): Christian Bale fans have really “Ben Affleckted” by the new choice for Batman.
You know it’s funny. You just laughed. Admit it.
