Although I live a stone’s throw from Hollywood, I am not a star hound.
I do not watch TMZ. I’ve cancelled my subscription to EW. My eight-year-old daughter is more familiar with who’s who in movies and music than I am. So to pick a celebrity whose style I admire is a bit challenging.
I think, then, that I’m just going to loosely interpret “famous” to mean “internet renowned”, and there are two style bloggers who I admire, but for different reasons.
Audrey from Putting Me Together is genius at looking comfortable yet – well, put together at the same time. Her aesthetic has been accused of being too simple and straightforward but that’s what I love about her – she has a clear perspective and understanding of what she likes and what suits her and she dresses accordingly. I also appreciate her remixing skills and her lack of bells and whistles.
Lisa from Respect the Shoes is the exact opposite. She is master at accessories and print mixing. She embraces color and diversity and is not afraid to play with several fashion niches at the same time. I definitely admire her boldness and her penchant for experimentation.
Today, I’m a little bit of both. I’m print mixing à la Lisa by pairing a checked blazer with a tie-dyed pant, but I’m also going casual with an olive camp shirt and boots à la Audrey. Bonus points for the camp shirt being from Target, Audrey’s shopping mecca.
I’m glad that fall has finally come; I am definitely in my element with this season and I can’t wait to play with more layers as the weather turns progressively cooler.
