Today is BFF’s 40th birthday.
And to celebrate, we’re both playing hooky from work and spending an entire day doing girly things.
On the docket are pedicures, massages, accessory shopping, thrifting and, of course, noshing leisurely on fine foods while laughing wickedly that we’re taking a day off and getting away with it.
The planned pedis are what determined today’s outfit, btw. I knew not to make the mistake of wearing pants – especially skinnies – because I’d be dunking my tootsies in water. Since the TPP challenge involved wearing a belt with either a skirt or dress and playing with its placement for the most flattering effect, I’m calling this yet another example of serendipity.
The dress was on its way to the culling block but was rescued by the belt and I’d not worn the blazer since I’ve been weight fluctuating and had frankly forgotten I had it. Together, though, they make a potent combo, and it just goes to show how investing in the same labels really does make sartorial sense.
I may be cheating with the blazer since you can barely see the belt with it on and today is supposed to be all about belts. But the dress is so blowsy and flowy and I’m just not feeling bohemian chic today, so I feel the blazer is necessary to provide some sharpness and structure to the overall look.
And perhaps the blazer will prevent me from trying on too many things while we go thrifting. We can only hope. Ehehe…

P.S. Even though I LOVE BFF’s garden, the light is always so dim when I get here. Argh!
