I don’t own a lot of purple even though, like blue, it’s one of those colors that I covet and admire immensely on other people.

I guess I just don’t have the hutzpah or the pizazz like the artist formerly known as Prince does. And really, there aren’t a lot of cute purple items out there. The ones I see are usually rather matronly. Not that there’s anything wrong with matronly; I’m just not feeling that vibe yet.

This tank, then, was a fluke. I’d been in search of sequined tops because that was the trend last year around this time and this one was the least ostentatious and itchy. Of course, being me, I’d not had the opportunity nor the inclination to style it once I purchased it; it was enough that I owned the darned thing. And, as with all things in my cavernous closet, it finally came in handy.

This whole look is super bling, and to be honest, it’s probably too dressy, even for me. I can see it more as a date night ensemble. But because I don’t date anymore, I guess it’ll have to suffice for an audience of unappreciative adolescents. At least I tried to minimize the razzle dazzle with dark jeans and a plain black cardi, but I guess there’s just no stopping sequins, eh?

:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
Top – NY&Co. (similar)
Cardi – LOFT
Jeans – Levi’s 525 (no longer available but pick another poison)
Shoes – Fioni @ Payless
Necklace – gift from Aly
