I’ve not really spoken much of bling all week which is a travesty since it’s this week’s theme.

Well, better late than never, I say. Today, I have to make a big deal about this goshdarned adorbs necklace. I simply have to. I spent over $15 – but not more than $20; I’m not crazy! – on this bad boy, and that’s saying something because I usually pay about $10 tops for accessories.

I couldn’t help it, though. I fell for this piece. I fell hard.

I had been searching every possible combination of floral, flower, statement, necklace, and J.Crew-inspired on eBay because my fashion guru inspired me to be more colorful in my choice of neck accessories. When I stumbled upon this treasure, I heard an angels’ choir of hallelujahs go off in my head with the volume turned up to eleven.

And what’s not to love? Look at the shapes! Look at the colors! Look at the bling! The bling, people!

You’re mesmerized. I know. I was too.

In order for it to shine bright like a diamond, however, I knew I had to pair it up with the simplest of outfits. And what could be simpler than black and white? Of course, being me, I couldn’t just stop with that. I had to go and throw in all kinds of trends because, at the end of the day, I’m just a closet Lady Gaga waiting to burst forth from my jewel-encrusted chrysalis.

So I present for your consideration: a faux leather skirt, a striped top, a cropped jacket, captoe flats and the mother of all statement necklaces. And this, my friends, is how you do a Friday before a three-day weekend right.

:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
Top – L.L. Bean (similar)
Jacket– Sears (similar)
Skirt – H&M (similar)
Shoes – Payless
Necklace – eBay

    • Welcome back, my friend! And thanks for the comment. I’d just been reading some style blogs that discussed being too twee in your “golden years” so I thought the length and fabric of the skirt might be too much. Then I thought “Eff it!” and wore it anyway. 😉

  1. great blog, you are doing a good job 🙂 go on like this!
