Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Which is why I feel no shame in stealing Sarah’s idea for my weekly theme. (Actually, if she’s invited people to participate, does that constitute as “stealing”?) It’ll be the ultimate in remixing, I tell ya! And I must say, it’s so much easier when I have a base to start with.
This week, then, I present to you: Take One and Pass It On, and what I’m remixing is ye ole basic black lace pencil skirt. And I’m passing it on.
But all damned week, yo.
Yep. Five days.
Now some of you may be grossed out with the idea of re-wearing clothes without washing them, but there’s heaps of data out there that says doing so is better for the environment and the clothes themselves. And, come on! If you’re really honest, you know you don’t launder jeans after only one wear, right? Right?!
For me, I’m less inclined to be all squicky when the item in question is a bottom rather than a top. Unless it’s a particularly hot day when I feel sweaty and disgusting all over and I throw everything in the laundry bin at day’s end, my clothes usually end up being hung and aired out. They don’t get thrown in the washer until at least after two uses for tops and sometimes double that for bottoms.
Don’t judge me. I work in a climate-controlled environment with minimal movement involved.
Of course, having settled on my theme and after concocting five, fun outfits, I realized that today is Veteran’s Day and I’m a government official which means I have the day off and I’d promised my kids we’d see Thor so now I’m stuck wearing a skirt to the theatre. Not the most ideal movie watching attire.
Sigh. The best-laid plans of mice and men…
