This was actually my first choice of outfit for Visible Monday.

I mean, look at those leggings! Actually, they’re better than plain ol’ leggings. They’re thick. They’re knitted. They’re sweater leggings. They’re…they’re…sweggings!

It’ll catch on. I swear.

Anyhow, as I was saying: I was all set to rock the sweggings for Visible Monday. All pink and fair isled and printed. And gyrating. (And borderline twee, if I had to be honest.) It was just the perfect thing. It totally screamed “Look at me! I’m forty and fearless!”

Sadly, California weather dictates my choice of ensemble. Since it’s supposed to be the coldest day of the week today, and the wimp in me needs layers for the coldest day of the week – All 66 degrees of it. Yeah, I know. – I designated this ensemble today’s rather than yesterday’s.

Let’s just call it Visible Tuesday and run with that.

The sportiness of a hoodie really appeals to my aesthetic right now, which probably means I’m about due for another style metamorphosis. After I gave birth to #2 (eight years ago), I went through a serious 40s phase, and just recently, I went through my Mad Men phase, both of which have left trace elements in my wardrobe. I wonder if my channeling Sporty Spice will leave as lasting an impression.

Anyhow, I am in love with not just the fashion genre but the color combo as well. I knew I had to incorporate the Piko top in this ensemble to be in compliance with the week’s theme, but the only one I had left was this almost-TARDIS blue. I wanted to wear the sweggings because of aforementioned cold snap, so I thought why not? And wouldn’t you know – fuchsia and blue look stunning together.

Huzzah for saturated jewel tones!

:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
Top – Piko
Hoodie – ideeli
Jacket – Merona @ Target (last season)
Leggings – Mossimo @ Target

    I love it! SWEGGINGS! A friend of mine was wearing a pair of grey sweggings (I have now added that word to my phone) and they looked so warm and cozy and like they would go fabulously with my boots!

      YES! Sweggings will take over the blogosphere! Mwahahahaha!

      And you must buy a pair – I swear by them! Sadly, this pair ended up sagging and bagging and made me feel like I was wearing nappies by day’s end. I will have to try to shrink it. Hopefully viscose shrinks…
