As you may have discerned, I’m using a different backdrop this week.
I was tired of chasing the sun which was what I was doing by waiting for the golden hour between 3:30-4:30pm to take my photos. Also, I didn’t want to be tethered to a specific schedule, especially over the weekend, so I thought to just switch things around and take my pictures in the morning and get them out of the way so I can lounge the rest of the day.
Ah, the best laid plans of mice and men…
At 10:30 am, I ended up casting shadows no matter where I went in my backyard. The new location only succeeded when the sun went behind a cloud bank and it was just my luck that those darned clouds kept scudding by too fast. So, instead of chasing the sun, I ended up having to chase the clouds.
Of course, I didn’t realize I was casting shadows until I was halfway through my shots and we all know how much I hate do-overs. So I’m gonna pretend that I meant for those shadows to be there. Yeah. That’s it. I was being creative.
Today’s outfit, by the way, is also exactly the same from its initial iteration with the simple addition of the grey cashmere sweater. And it once again proves my point – I’m wearing three layers, I’m super warm and comfy, but I don’t look like/feel like Ralphie’s brother from A Christmas Story. Huzzah for cashmere!
Now if only I can convince my husband that blogging is a viable occupation. Then maybe he’ll let me buy that photo studio kit and allow me to set up in the study so I won’t be at the mercy of the sun.
