You’ll never guess! I got nominated for a blog thingie!
Squeeeee! I can die a happy bloganista now!
Seriously, when I started this blogging thing, I would sneak a peek at other people’s blogs to get ideas and stuff, and I’d often come across these posts about “winning” blog awards. Being the over-achieving honors kid that I am, I longed to be a part of that elite crew. But, being the procrastinating product of IPoly that I am, I never did get around to self-promotion and thus thought I’d sabotaged my chances of ever being nominated.
Enter Theresa of Thoughts From the Shower. She is my kindred spirit, only ten times better. I always maintain that if a movie of my life was ever made, I’d want Tina Fey to play me because she’s my hero, but I think Tina needs to play Theresa ‘coz Theresa is much cooler and much wittier than I and deserves Tina more.
But I digress.
So anyhow, Theresa nominated me for this Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. What is it, you ask? Erm, I don’t quite know. I don’t know who started it, who’s part of it, or what I win if I even do win. For all I know, this could be the blogger’s version of a chain letter. Still, I’m in good company if Theresa’s part of it.
And I get to put up a cool award logo for the first time ever.
So thank you, Theresa! You are a goddess! Now here’s my ish:
Provide a link to and thank the blogger who nominated you for this award. (Done!)
Answer ten questions. (See below)
Nominate 10-12 blogs that you find a joy to read. (This was tough. I really only follow 9 consistently. I told you I was a lazy, anti-social, non-self promoting bum.)
Provide links to these nominated blogs and kindly let the recipients know they have been nominated. (Erm, see above. Also, some of these bloggers are so high in the stratosphere that I hope they don’t think my nominating them will be a bother and/or a chore. Also, if I nominated Theresa but she nominated me, do we just keep going around and around in a circle of mutual appreciation? Mind blown.)
- Include the award logo within your blog post. (Yep!)
Your favourite colour: TARDIS blue, baby! (See how I did that, Sarah Solar?)
Your favourite animal: dog to own; fox to wear; owl to identify with
Your favourite non-alcoholic drink: water, but any kind of boba comes a close second
Facebook or Twitter? Facebook (I’m old; I don’t twitter)
Your favourite pattern: plaid because I missed the punk era and regret it every day of my life
Do you prefer getting or giving presents? Would I sound like a materialistic git if I say “getting”? Probably. Okay, giving. I prefer giving. Sheesh!
Your favourite number: 5 when asked in real life, 3 when asked in the classroom
Your favourite day of the week: Saturday (I think this is the de rigueur response. Is there any other day that can compete?)
Your favourite flower: freesia to smell, sunflowers to decorate
- What is your passion? Being passionate. No, really. That’s not me being cheeky. I am passionate about always being passionate. It’s the feeling, not the thing. At any given time of my life, I’ve been passionate about Val Kilmer, anime, knitting, YA novels, writing novels, rubber stamping, interior decorating, all things 1940, and fashion. I’m currently passionate about blogging, Doctor Who, Pet City, cooking, and fashion. I think someone needs to kill me quick if I ever stop feeling passionate about stuff.
(in alphabetical order so I don’t hurt anyone’s feelings)
- Already Pretty
- Fashion for Giants
- Not Dead Yet
- Putting Me Together
- Respect the Shoes
- Sarah’s Real Life
- Thoughts from the Shower
- YA Crush
- You Look Fab
So I’m short one blog. I am all sorts of fail. Can’t even rustle up one more for the requisite 10. I need to make more blogger friends, don’t I? Or maybe it’s quality, not quantity? Anyhow, do yourselves a solid and click on all of the above links for a taste of awesomesauce because that’s what all these ladies are.
And we will return to our regularly scheduled broadcast next Saturday with more HGB. I swear.
