OOTD :: of berryliciousness and lace

The trick to pulling off lace on lace without looking mumsy is to incorporate different types of lace.

Of course, having said that, I realize I hadn’t taken any detail shots of either my top or skirt. So you’re gonna have to trust me on this. If you’re still not convinced, then forget that piece of advice and go with this: always opt for a blindingly kick ass color. That way, people will be too busy shying away from the color to realize you’re wearing lace on lace.

Because I bet, had I not pointed out that lace was my repeating double of the day, you were probably too distracted by my berryliciousness to notice. And I definitely don’t look dated or dowdy, do I?

I toyed with wearing my berry pumps with this outfit but wisely decided against a potential matchy-matchy situation. Instead, I kept the look current with a nude pump, mixed metals with my accessories and a dark lip.

This is a little too professional/office lady for my tastes, though, and if I did a do-over on this look, I would probably ditch the blazer for a denim or leather jacket and pull my hair back in a pony, but I think that’s just the 2014 me talking.

Oo your colour scheme is putting me in mind of a gorgeous whipped dessert! Very good tip about the lace on lace and as usual your outfit is totally on point with the current high fashion trends. Lovin’ the necklace especially 🙂

I actually had to ditch the necklace in favor of a cream cardi because of the weather change I’ve been whingeing about all week. Even traded in the pumps for a pair of brown knee-high heeled boots. But thanks once again for the kind words. 😀

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
