OOTD :: of PJ Day and short over long

So do you pronounce it pa-JAM-as or pa-JUHM-as?

I say the latter and apparently that and several other words I say have me hailing from the East Coast. Thing is, I’ve never actually spent longer than 7 weeks in the East Coast. Go figure. I think it’s just wishful thinking on my part. Anyhow, you can have a bit of fun yourself and discover your personal dialect via this quiz; I’d be interested to see where you land.

As you can see, I’m not really holding discourse about today’s outfit because pajamas. And really, is there anything more to say? I’m comfy and I’m at work getting paid to be comfy. Ain’t teaching grand?

I will take a moment, however, to give a shout out to Anne @ Spy Girl for the “short over long” criterion. I’m really appreciating the inventiveness of her challenges and was really looking forward to doing an entire week of short over long until Spirit Week put a kibosh on that idea. I even had the most adorable outfit planned around a lovely blue puffer vest over a fair isle hoodie. Sad face. Ah, c’est la vie. Perhaps I’ll do a vest week and wear it then.

I’m hoping, then, that my wearing a short-sleeved PJ top over long-sleeved thermals will count for Anne’s link up. What say you?

:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
PJ Top – Target (worn here)
PJ Bottoms – Secret Santa gift 2012
Scarf – F21
Shoes – Chuck Taylor All Stars (told you I had ’em in multiple colors)

  1. So fun, Maricel! Thanks for sharing your remix with us. I love the peek into your personality- I bet you are a great teacher!

I’d like to think I am and perhaps five years ago, I would’ve agreed whole-heartedly with that statement without hubris. But the older I get, the more removed I feel from my students. I just hope I can remain relevant in their lives up until I’m ready to retire. ;p

You do not wear your pajamas (jam as in strawberry) to work?!?! What kind of signal does that send to all the kids who think pajamas are formal wear? At least you’ve got Hello Kitty – fun!

I just read a post at That’s Not My Age about sneakers and sports shoes being very IN right now. So you’re just the coolest! Fun pictures, too.

Love them, so cute! I love the windswept look too 😀

I remember the drama students at college having weird tasks like having to go to the supermarket in pajamas and ask for strange things or pretend to be sleepwalking…

My pj’s are all just an assortment of old clothes I had when I was a teenager that can’t be worn out now but are still warm and good for layering.

Oh my stars! The wind was WRETCHED that day! I almost threw my hands up in surrender. But I’d already “put on my face” and the following day was Superbowl Sunday and i knew I’d have no other day to take pics so it was on with the show. All my photos this week will have me looking windswept in some way. Urgh.

  4. So funny that I asked you a pronunciation question on the same day you posted this! I say pa-JAM-as, although I’m more likely to say, pjs, jammies, or jim-jams. I took the quiz, and the map put me in the Piedmont Area of NC (the major cities were Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Raleigh-Durham). Considering I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, I’d say it’s spot-on!
    Super cute look!

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
