OOTD :: of being a bombshell…you think?

Hullo, Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for hosting Andrea and Kim who have this to say about the iconic bombshell:

Bombshell just might be – depending on how far you choose to take it – the most labor-intensive look of all. These are women who work hard to get glamorous. They take care to slip on stockings so that the seam goes straight up the back; to cinch their waists way in; to wear coordinated lingerie sets, complicated corsets, and high heels – to the market. And isn’t that refreshing? They take us out of time, away from trends and practicality; they exist as something luxurious and utterly feminine…It’s about shape and polish, with a dose of serious sparkle thrown into the mix.

    • Oh, she’s beeyootiful! Thanks for the link, Anne! I’m always game for another blogger find. And if my eyes don’t deceive me, I think she might be a fellow SoCalian? Yes indeedy she is. What fun!

      And yes, I did teach in those heels. They are surprisingly comfortable because of the perfect balance of platform to heel and the vamp – which is often the bane of my wide-footed existence – cuts away exactly where I need it to accommodate my faux bunions. ;p

  1. God, you are so cute! Er, I mean, hot! Or both at the same time! Sparkle and sizzle! And a few more exclamations points for good measure!!!!

    • Well, that’s a lot of hoo-ha that I’ll pretend I believe! No false modesty implied; I’m really not usually referred to as “cute” or “hot”. But I’ll certainly take “sparkle” and “sizzle”. 😀

    • Everyone commented on those heels today. Funny thing is: they’re old and I’ve worn them multiple times but hadn’t received any compliments on them before. Must be the outfit, eh?

    • Leave it to you, Patti, to make me blush. I was just thinking that I ought to have stopped quoting before the last sentence since I had no visible sparkle in the outfit, and now here you go with your fabulous compliment. Awww, shucks! 🙂

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
