5 Things :: MCC Summer Edition

Hullo, hullo! It’s finally here, my friends!

For your consideration, may I present MCC’s…

summerheader2a

But what does it all mean? Besides a swanky new header which will go live starting tomorrow, of course.

Well, it means that I’m revamping my weekly posts to suit my fell purposes and to give me a blogging break. It’s designed so I can still maintain my personal goal of posting every day without the obligation of getting dressed every day. Because, let’s face it: in the summer, I live in shorts and tanks and no matter how creative I get, there’s just so much you can do with shorts and tanks.

But more on that in just a sec.

Right now, let me break it all down for you, 5 Things style:

  1. M, W, F = OOTD (because that should be enough days to keep my core style readers occupied and these are the days that I have the most linkups)
  2. Tuesday = Treasure Tuesdays (I’m planning on participating in Greenthumb’s Scavenger Hunt photo linkup and I’ll showcase my hunt photos on this day)
  3. Thursday = Thrilled for Thursdays (basically, my random day where I can post Polyvore outfits, books I’ve read, recipes I love, pictures of my kids enjoying summer break, and of course T3)
  4. Saturday will remain HGB/WIT with a little surprise twist if I’m feeling brave
  5. Sunday will remain 5 Things but I could use some help with topics

And there you have it. My master plan. I’m thinking there’s enough there to please a wide variety of people while allowing me to loaf a bit, especially when it comes to taking those dratted photo shoots.

But being the crazy overachiever that I am, I’ve gotta add a bit of challenge to my slacker schedule. So I’m dubbing my MWF OOTDs as The Summer of Skirts. That is, I’m gonna try to wear nothing but skirts and/or dresses this summer so I’ll be guaranteed out of my tanks and shorts slump for at least 3 days out of the week.

Brilliant? I think so.

Week in review - Long Over Short produced my most eclectic week yet.

    • That’s right – Selah did say something about your No Pants Monday at one point. I guess I must have subconsciously stored the idea? Hope you don’t mind. ;p

  2. It’s so good to have a plan. This sounds like a good one; I read you every day no matter what you post about, so you can count on me : >

    • Awww, thanks, Patti! That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! I don’t think you realize how much that means to me; you were one of the original style bloggers I regularly followed and admired from afar. To have made your reading library is a true fangirl moment. ❀

  3. You’re so organized – it’s kind of frightening to a spur-of-the-moment gal like me! But that’s what makes blog life interesting – some things are dependable, some things are random.

I like your new banner and your schedule. I think I’ll be wearing more skirts this summer, too, since I’ve acquired quite a few, and they’re so comfortable. I have no ideas for your Five Random Things, but maybe you could work some French into it!

    • I like “organized”. It’s better than “OCD”. πŸ˜€

Oh, that’s a great idea, Val! I’m gonna definitely work some French into it! Thanks for le bon idΓ©e!

    • Ah, yes! How could I forget Amanda! Will revisit her list momentarily. And yes, I shall definitely go back and cherry pick from you as well. πŸ˜€

Hrmmm…looking forward to Thursdays, eh? Is it just your craving for something random or your secret master plan to convert me from style blogger to book blogger? 😜

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
