OOTD :: of happy polka dots and thinking out loud

Random thoughts bounce in my head, e.e. cumming-esque in their frenetic energy. I shall attempt to corral them into a semblance of order via a list:

  1. It’s Friday the 13th.
  2. This is the last time you’ll see me with this hair color. Finally went to the salon last Tuesday but took these pics last Sunday, so you do the math. πŸ™‚
  3. Today’s 60s outfit incorporates the #1 fashion trend of the time – the mini skirt – but I think the headband, polka dot tank, cat’s eye sunnies and wedges all contribute in their own way.
  4. These photos remind me in no uncertain terms that I have no waist to speak of. But they also remind me that I have ferocious calves so I guess they balance each other out.
  5. I wonder if I should get some contacts so I can sport non-prescription sunnies more often?
  6. Does listing make my blog more accessible or is it just a sign of sloppy writing?
  7. By only doing OOTDs 3 days a week, will my readership decline? And do I care?
  8. I should either get a tan – shudder! – or consider finding a new backdrop for my summer pics because I think my skin tone blends too much with my house’s exterior wall color.
  9. Imagine this polka dot top as a vest so a collared shirt underneath. Think it’d transition well into fall that way?

And I stop at 9 because I like odd numbers and my random thoughts just dried up. Happy Friday, everyone!

I just love this outfit! Personally, I find lists very appealing…especially for digital reading.

  2. I can wear non-prescription sunnies assuming I don’t need to see anything up close! Contacts didn’t work for me due to my need for bifocals, when I tried them I felt like my brain was going to explode. You do have killer calves my friend, and you should rock ’em at every opportunity!

But don’t non-pescription sunnies give you a headache after a while? Also, I’m near-sighted and living life in a blur is not my idea of a good time so I guess I’m stuck with my transition lenses. Sigh…

  3. That is a very cute top! For awhile you were taking pictures with your front door as the backdrop – could you do that again? Please don’t tan – it’s not good for your skin. 😦

    • mtsedwards says:

The sun is never the best out front and pictures I take there require serious Photoshopping. Just kidding about the tan, you know. I’m all about skin health and anti-wrinkling. In fact, when we went to the beach yesterday, I wore a long-sleeved shirt, a maxi skirt, and a large beach hat. I know protection!

  4. Patti says:

Cute! You do a mini skirt proud, with those great legs. xo

    • mtsedwards says:

It’s my one vanity. Until these babies get varicose veins, I’m sporting the minis regardless of my age. (Is that scandalous?)

  5. Dang girl…you’re keeping us waiting with bated breath! I love your polka dot blouse, and would totally wear it into the fall. I’m not sure I’d put a garment underneath, but definitely a cute cardie over top!

    • mtsedwards says:

A cardi and a scarf, then, since my neck is always the first to feel the chill.

And I hope I won’t disappoint with my hair and that you guys will see an appreciable difference. There’s a story about all that, to be told next week. πŸ˜€

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
