OOTD :: of stripes, skirts and cold shoulders

Hullo, Wordless Wednesday!

I love the 80s, and here’s my paean to it with cut-out shoulders, batwing sleeves and happy, happy colors. No fingerless lace gloves or cropped red leather jackets for me, though. I’m feeling nostalgic, not derivative.

What a fun top! It looks good on you, but you know, when I look back, 80s style is not a fashion look I want to repeat. Loved the New Wave music, though!

That’s what I thought too! I was so dreading the 80s and 90s – fashion wasteland, in my opinion. But we have ways! (<— read in diabolical German accent)

  2. Haha! I totally used to rock the lace gloves…and I worked at a record store…how cliche! You look adorable, I love the skirt and the color combo!

    • mtsedwards says:

Oh, to be that cliche! I wanted to be Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink so badly, it hurt. I even had a Duckie of my own back then. Sadly, no Blaine. But then again, I would never date someone with the name of a major appliance. ;p

Silly WP. And yay to JPG for providing me with the perfect 80s top. Now I’m just waiting for you to come up with another round of 52 Pick-me-up. ;p

I love the bat-wing sleeves! And the sassy skirt. Great look, M!

  7. Connie Snow* says:

Bat wing sleeves. That’s so funny. I had forgotten all about those. So very 80’s!

I didn’t even know they were a thing until I read about them on Sammy D. I guess that was one trend that passed me by.

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
