OOTD :: of oversights and overdue indecision

Hullo, hullo!

White day was a pretty easy day because I have all of two white dresses and I think I’ve talked ad nauseam about my fave Target dress so it was about time to highlight the other one.

You know. The red-headed stepchild?

Speaking of red, anyone notice I skipped out on that color with today’s OOTD? I truly was planning on painting my nails a blood red or at least slashing my lips with some NYX Snow White action, but in the flurry of getting in and out of ensembles and chasing the sun, guess what details I forgot?

(I did remember the blue, though, because it’s technically TARDIS Tuesday and wearing blue is a must on TARDIS Tuesday!)

Anyhoozle, this dress. It actually preceded the Target one by several years, another impulse buy that has stood the test of time because it’s so classic, you know? I mean, eyelets, shirred bodice, babydoll silhouette and sophisticated grey and silver striping details? This is a perfect square of fashion goodness, my friends. The only thing missing are pockets.

Perfection of this frock aside, I want to point out the fact that I have yet another twinsies main pic. That is, I simply couldn’t decide which style to feature: layer or no layer. When faced with indecision, a Gemini’s tried-and-true reaction is to choose both, of course, but this particular indecision is noteworthy because there had been a time not too long ago that I would never even have considered baring arms, much more showing them off.

About time my insecurities get wrestled into submission.

P.S. Could I count my son’s shirt as accessorizing with red?

P.P.S. Could this outfit count as “minimalism” so I can link up with Anne? Hrmmm…knowing my usual MO, I think it can! πŸ˜€

Nothing says summer like a white dress and you look gorgeous in yours with the brilliant splash of blue at your neck. I also chose all-white for minimalism, definitely a valid choice πŸ™‚

And to think I’d eschewed wearing white for so long fearing it’d make me look over large. I love it when I throw style rules out the window! Your white ensemble is equally brilliant by the way, although I was hard-pressed in trying to figure out which ring was the splurge and which was the steal. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. That dress is fab on you, girl!

  3. I love the grey stripe detail on the dress – it adds a lot of visual interest. I wish the eyelet showed up better in pictures – I bet it’s beautiful. πŸ™‚

You are absolutely correct. ‘Tis why I can never get rid of it, no matter how much my weight fluctuates.

What is wrong with my Target??? I never find cute dresses there. You will have to take me on a guided tour. Anyhoozle…you look so summery. I love the blue sparkle necklace with the white.

It is my prime directive to make “anyhoozle” a part of everyone’s lexicon! Mwahahahaha!

And sure, I’ll take you on a tour. Just remember that I’m more of an online shopper so it’ll have to be a virtual tour. ;p

Nothing says summer like white dress! Adding in those cool watery-blue gems around your neck is just perfect. Take me to the pool – it’s supposed to hit 95 here today!

Argh – in Oregon? Then there’s no hope for SoCal. Good thing I spent my entire day indoors, slamming away at the keys and trying to force my recalcitrant novel writing muse to cooperate.
