OOTD :: of sunflowers and sadness

Just so we’re clear: I am not doing another week of desserts, lemon or otherwise.

I’d forgotten to mention this earlier in the week, but I am participating in Anne’s Sunflower challenge over @ Spygirl. And I’m feeling really lucky that it’s a short work week since I only own four yellow dresses which works wonders with my self-imposed style parameters.

I am currently on Day 18 of my spending fast and I’m feeling good. There’ve been a couple of close calls with Labor Day sales, but nothing I can’t live without.

I’m also on Dress #11 of my 50 Dresses challenge and I’m just still so amazed that I’ve been able to keep up with Anne’s 52 Pick-me-up challenges without breaking a sweat. I dunno if I should be proud or shamed by that fact.

Today’s sunny offering is bittersweet because I do love this dress but fear I’ve shrunk it just a bit and now it’s flirting with being just as inappropriate length-wise as Tuesday’s cheeky outfit. I tried to mitigate the scandalous-ness of it by pairing it with a longish blazer and flats but this may just be the last time this dress makes an appearance.

Perhaps I could chop it short, make it a tunic top and wear it with some bell bottomed jeans? Or tights? Maybe tights…

    • I surprise myself with yellow too. I avoided it like the plague in my 30s because my color consultant said “no yellow!” I guess there’s some truth behind our changing skin tone in our later years, eh?

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
