OOTD :: of pearls, patches and au revoir

Okay, you gotta admit – patched elbows are totally Back to School.

Well, if you’re a stuffy, pipe-puffing, tortoiseshell-bespectacled professor anyway.

Happily for me, I am all about tweaking the status quo. So pairing chartreuse with grey satisfies my fashionista while pearls and elbow patches makes this outfit challenge compliant. I am also sporting another “new” item from my closet – a Missoni/Target collab pair of suede pumps that I scored from thredUp for a mere $10.

It’s a great outfit to celebrate the end of the Back to School challenge week. And the end of an era.

Today marks the final day at my school site of my co-worker, carpool buddy and sometime pain in the rear. He is off to greener pastures as assistant principal at another high school and, much as his personality is reminiscent of the plaguing younger brother I never had, he will be sorely missed. Thanks for a great decade, my friend. Go further with Purther, indeed.

  1. There is something I love about a sweater with elbow patches. I have been on the look-out for the perfect one for years but still haven’t found it!

Oh give me those pumps – I love the 40’s vibe. Great look all-round with a nod to academia : >

The pumps echo the elbow patch color, too. I’m definitely a stuffy type, apparently. I’ve always loved elbow patches. I can’t remember ever owning any, though!

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
