OOTD :: of a T3 week reminder and grunge

I’ve been quite remiss in following up on my own linkup so I felt it apropos to commandeer an entire post and talk it up.

Last month flew by like Hermes on winged feet, and by the time the third Thursday rolled around, I barely had enough time and energy to concoct my own offering, let alone encourage others to do the same. This is not a self-castigation; this is simply an honest admission. Life happens, my friends, and I totally get that.

And I suppose it doesn’t help that our linkup only happens once a month, making it challenging to remember, much less prepare for.

Still, I believe it is the responsibility of the facilitator to promote and persuade, to coax and cajole, to remind and request.

So here I am, world, doing just that.

For the month of September, Selah and I celebrate the season of Back to School with this prompt: What was your best or worst mandatory high school read? If you can hearken back to high school, so be it, but I’ll be lenient and count college/university reads too.

So think on it, commit to it, then come back to us this Thursday with your answer and hopefully with an outfit that was inspired by it.

I may find my own linkup a challenge this time because of course this week had to coincide with Anne’s Go Grunge challenge over @ Spygirl. I don’t think I was ever assigned a “grunge” text, it being a genre/style that came after my time at school. I’ll concoct something, though. I promise.

But that’s Thursday. Today, I can be as derivative as I want, within the confines of professionalism and 50 Dresses, of course. I hope my outfit meets with your approval. It’s a bit more rock ‘n roll than grunge, but I did say the latter was a bit after my time so I can only work within the parameters of my experiences. And Pinterest did direct me to the whole floaty-dress-worn-with-moto-boots look when I searched “grunge fashion”. I’m calling this one a success.

Oh, and how about mad props to Aly’s room for hosting this week’s photo shoot? It was just way too warm outside for this week’s outfits, and I must say – I was a whole lot happier taking these pics in an air conditioned environment. The light ain’t too bad either, right? That’s thanks to some magic filters and Photoshop. Hallelujah, technology!

I like the contrast of this outfit! I was really confused about Aly’s Room…you made it sound like a bar or something : )

  3. Ahh, I could totally go grunge for my T3 look this week. I was in high school in the early 1990s. I’ll have to ponder that.
    I love this look!

Gawds, you just made me feel ancient. 😀 Just kidding! I think we may have written ourselves into a corner with this month’s topic, pun intended. Let’s see how it all pans out, eh?

Oh, and one of my students asked me today how I could stand to wear leather on a 108-degree day and I said 1. it’s not real leather and 2. I didn’t leave my a/c-ed classroom all day except to fill my water bottle and use the restroom. Seasonally inappropriate indeed!

  4. Ok, so I’m really going to try to get my act together for T3 this week! I have some great inspiration but I’m not sure if I can find a good outfit to go with it. You will just have to wait and see 🙂

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
