OOTD :: of the plaid dress and jeans

Seriously, who knew? I know I didn’t, but now that I do, there’s no way you’ll ever stop me from celebrating Plaidurday.

I mean, that’s just totally genius – an entire day dedicated to the awesomeness that is plaid. That’s almost as awesome as May the 4th and definitely more awesome than Talk like a Pirate Day. And I’m joining in the fun with this unabashedly plaid frock, even if it does make me look pregnant.

I’m once again attempting this dress-over-pants thing and I think this is gonna be my last attempt. It’s just not doing my vertically challenged-ness any favors. The only reason I’m even doing it now is because this dress really does require something to keep it modest. It’s almost at that point where I donate it to Aly’s closet which I’m sure will excite her to no end because it’s a Taylor Swift label. (Btw, who knew Taylor Swift had a clothing label? I just scored this from the thrift store.)

I like the casual vibe of the boyfriend jeans and the brown wedges. I love the ease of the babydoll cut. I adore the pockets. It’s a perfect outfit for a Friday and it’s unrepentant in its flirty plaid-ness.

Vive le vendredi!

  1. I think it looks cool, but you probably picked the best photos, huh? If you say it doesn’t work for you, then lucky Aly. I always like the dress over jeans idea, but I also don’t feel like it works on me. But then again, I haven’t really tried it. 😉

I missed out on Plaidurday, but it is a fun idea, isn’t it? Sheila (Ephemera) wore a tie on Thursday because she said the guys in her office have taken to having Tie Thursday. I wonder if that will catch on.

  3. So funny! Clara has one of these from the thrift store, too. I think this looks cute on you, but maybe your feelings about it are because it is designed for a junior body? The look is a good one, though. You look happy, and that makes the outfit!

    • I think she may have been deliberate, yes. And hopefully this is gonna be my last flirtation with the trend. I’m over it. But I sure was comfy in it.

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
