OOTD :: of stripes and neutrals and not much to say

This outfit is so basic, it doesn’t need that second detail collage.

After all, it’s just a striped bodycon dress, a white denim jacket and a pair or nude pumps; I doubt you need to see anything up close.

Not that I’m saying it’s a boring outfit, however. It’s just simple. And sometimes, simple is all you need to lift your spirits. That, and a fun new filter to play with.

Oh, oh, oh! Guess what? I just remembered I wanted to join Whitney and Alex for their first ever hosted linkup! And Whitney’s tasked us to “take one, pass it on” on the following elements: striped shirt, black shorts, a printed scarf, oxfords and blush pink. I thought I wouldn’t be able to participate because I already had this whole week planned out, but lookit! Stripes? Check. Blush? Check. That’s more than one! And I didn’t even do it on purpose!

Serendipity, thou art my saviour!

Anyhow, I end my week of trends with a bit of a whimper instead of a bang. Stripes – the pattern du jour – aren’t exactly trendy. They’re more classic than anything else. I suppose I could’ve thrown on a statement necklace – a bubble necklace, even – which is the epitome of “trend”, but that would defeat the purpose of “simple”, yeah?

Vive le vendredi!

    • ‘Tis the filter, my friend, and I’ll trade you my sun for your gloomy skies any day. I’m tired of the heat; it makes me irritable. >.<

    • Ah, glad you appreciated that. I could’ve gone regular denim but did feel the black of the dress warranted a lighter touch.

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
