OOTD :: of animals and annual hooky

Wasn’t it just yesterday that I wore this dress?

Oddly enough, though, I don’t feel the slightest bit derivative of myself like I normally would. The thing is, when you challenge yourself to wear every dress in your closet but you’d already worn a few of them pre-challenge, there’s bound to be repeats. And now that I’ve convinced myself that I’m “remixing” and not “repeating”, all’s good in the ‘hood. (And we shall not speak of good ol’ Will and his infamous  “rose by any other name” quote.)

But wait! There’s more!

Not only have I already worn this particular dress, I’ve utilized this combo before as well. Apparently, I have a penchant for pairing red and animal print. The vibe is totally different, though, doncha think? Must be the accessories and the hair. Regardless, it’s the perfect ensemble for my annual hooky day in celebration of BFF’s birthday – it’s easy, breezy and comfy casual for our plans to do a Target/Starbuck’s/DSW/Shogun/Massage Envy day.

Anyhow, I’m getting down to my last few dresses and I’m still rather amazed that I made it this far and was still able to tackle Anne’s 52 Pick-me-up challenges concurrently. This week’s topic is Animal, thus the leopard cardi. Not very imaginative of me but I think last week’s interpreting left me a little burnt out in the creative juices department.

Still, it’s challenge compliant so I’m calling it a win. Let’s see if I can keep my streak going for the remainder of the week, eh?

Completely a win. Adorable is still adorable whether it’s been photographed recently or not … new to us in each sweet incarnation, lovely variability with each new combination. Shrodinger’s Dress, sort of. Isn’t that a picture. Perhaps Mrs. Shrodinger’s dress … or something. You know what I mean.
    Anyroad, you’re yummy.

And I love how you made me research Schrodinger’s theory in order to understand that comment. Thanks for promoting lifelong learning! 😀

I don’t think you can count June 30th as “just yesterday”. This was a stunning ensemble, and I’ll be pairing some red and animal print quite soon as an homage. Thank you for making my birthday week amazing : )

Any time! I still think we ought to make up another best friend and do these birthday hooky days at least once a quarter. It was the BEST FUN.

  3. You certainly won’t hear me say that repeating and remixing are the same thing, because they’re not. 😉
I hope you and BFF have a great day!

Is it truly? I needs must research all the classic pairings and do a week of them, eh? I’ve become way too enamored with being cutting edge in my pattern mixing and perhaps need to revisit otherwise. Any others you care to suggest?
