TARDIS Tuesday :: of starry, starry night

It’s TARDIS Tuesday, y’all. I hope you’re getting your game on for the linkup.

This week, I decided to kill two birds with one stone by finally wearing these fab novelty leggings I acquired last season. Yep, the pictures don’t do them justice but that sure is a Starry Night print. And I’ve been obsessed with Van Gogh ever since Vincent and the Doctor. So can you blame me for falling in love and purchasing them outright when I spotted them?

They sure count as crazy for Crazy Legs week because I doubt anyone I know would ever dare wear them, much less wear them to work, but I’m just in that kind of mood, and what better outfit to wear for my yearly evaluation than one that’s an ode to one of my favorite Doctor Who episodes?

Perhaps next time, I’ll wear something similar to the ensemble Amy sports in this clip. And perhaps next time, I’ll be able to take pics outdoors and not look so jaundiced.

Ah, TARDIS Tuesday – the possibilities are endless! Now let’s see what other folks have got for us, yeah?

:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
Top – Old Navy
Cardi – F21
Leggings – eBay
Pumps – Payless

OMG!!! These leggings are The Best. Seriously, that episode is a total instant sob-fest! Soooo gooooood! I love this whole look – the chambray and cardigan with the leggings are perfect.

So you don’t think I Jersey-ed it up too much with the leggings/heels combo? I wanted to do a more modest ballet flat or even Chucks, but something about the potential shlumpiness of the top half of the outfit compelled me to do the heel.

      • chessakat says:

I think you could have pulled off Chucks, but I can see you went with the pumps – I think it’s a great look! I love all the contrasts! Not at all too Jersey. 😉

Brilliant. Good. Thanks. This Crazy Legs week is making me a lot more self-conscious than I’m used to being. Weird, huh? I’m usually not so hesitant and retiring about my outfits.

  2. […] Linking up with My Closet Catlogue’s TARDIS Tuesday! […]

And LOOK … I made it for Tardis Tusday with a post that I could find that actually applies. I’m SO proud of myself! Thank you, M. (But I’m still in awe of you in those tights. You’re so gorgeous I don’t think I’m confident enough to show this to Dan!)

  4. Jan Graham-McMillen says:

I swear by any of the gods who claim me … those are the most beautiful leggings I ever saw in my very long life! (These kinds of assertions are more valid from those of us who are actually living long lives, please note.) You just look like art. That’s ALL!

    • mtsedwards says:

      Ahahahaha! Noted.

And now I want to scour the interwebs for more art print clothing, if only to make you proud again.

How to make me cry in one minute: show me that ending! I am sitting here blubbering like a baby! I’ve actually only ever seen the ending- not the whole episode! there’s a whole lot of Matt Smith episodes I have never seen.
You look super and I adore the leggings, they are so beautiful!!! You are clever and original!x

    • mtsedwards says:

Oh, but you MUST see this ep! I love it sooo much! Even more than 10’s adventure with Shakespeare, and I’m the Brit lit teacher even!

Thanks for the lovely compliments. 😀

I LOVE these leggings! So cute!

Got so many comments on them today, but only a handful recognized the print. Is this another matter of exposure and privilege? :/

  7. Those leggings are AMAZING! And you are totally pulling them off. I’m not sure that starry night would look as lovely stretched across my thighs. Hahaha.

    • mtsedwards says:

LOL! I didn’t even think about how they’d look stretched; I just fell in love with the print. Good thing these babies are made of industrial strength lycra and don’t distort when stretched. Think uber strong Spanx. 😀

  8. Oh, this is fabulous. I love those leggings and the styling is perfect!

    • mtsedwards says:

Yep, I tried to keep it simple and understated up top to mitigate the potential costumey-ness of the bottoms. Thanks for the kind words.

  9. Oh, I adore that episode! Bert and I ordered a canvas print of Starry Night for a big, blank wall in our new house (is it still new when we’ve been there over a year?).

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
