OOTD :: of a plethora of thematic obligations

But not only is it T3 week, we’ve also got the fledgling TARDIS Tuesday tomorrow, and the Frozen theme from 52 Pick-me-up aaaaand…

Spirit Week at school!

Yep, I had totally bypassed the first one and I feel I ought to make an effort for this one. ‘Tis the season to be magnanimous and all. And perhaps if I try to enjoy my students this year, things might just turn around.

Stranger things have happened.

Today is quite obviously Pajama Day. I love this theme because it always gives me an excuse to hie on over to Target and splurge in something that I normally don’t give two hoots about since very few people see me in it. Kinda like socks and underwear.

Anyhoozle, I’m a bit bummed about my pjs purchase this year because a) I overestimated my size again and got a large and now the pants insist on falling off unless cinched tight by b) drawstrings! Argh! The pjs came in a nice little wrapped package and I was loath to un-bow them and try them on in the store and I thought they’d be elastic waisted, but alas! They are not. And too bad I threw away the receipt since c) these babies went on sale two days after I bought them.

Sigh. My life.

At least the top fits my linebacker shoulders and I still love the pattern – they’ve got cunning polar bears slumbering by cabins and pine trees! – and they totally work for 52 Pick-me-up ‘coz this is what I’d wear if the world was frozen outside.

Oh, and btw: Thoughtful Third Thursday’s theme this month is Best OR Worst Read of 2014. C’mon, folks! Do tell!

Here I am at Visible Monday. Ah. There’s Maricel. (Squint…) What’s she wearing? Uhhh … (Click ….) Well, I’ll be darned. Doesn’t she look grand in her PJs? You are pretty seriously charming in them. Ya’ need roomy bottoms. No, not too big. And a black bathrobe. How chic is that?
What I’m most impressed with is how adorably far you’ll go to get a theme right.
    Quite appropriate for “frozen” week.
This is why I LOVE your blog. And you too.

Tee hee! Did I really stand out in a sea of Vis Monday linkage? Coz you know I’m last in the time zone race and I always end up being in the triple digits. It’s a wonder Patti even knows who I am!

PJ Day is my fave Spirit Week theme – of course I’d go all out! And I kept singing about it – yes, SINGING! – all day. The kids thought I was nuts.

  2. So cute! And if you are going to choose anything to buy that is going to end up too big, it might as well be pajamas! I’m only halfheartedly participating in our spirit week this week. Administration also made it “college week” and are encouraging teachers to wear college apparel. So which one am I supposed to do?! Yesterday was “holiday color” day and fortunately MSU’s color is green…so I wore red pants and a green MSU t-shirt. Today is superhero day which I didn’t even attempt…I’m just wearing an MSU sweatshirt.

Argh! I hate when they combine stuff like that! Your admin clearly didn’t consult with your ASB folks. I think you ought to just go on Spirit strike and make your own themes! Mwahahahaha!

  3. So, do you actually sleep in this type of pajamas? I can’t comfortably sleep in anything but an oversized tee, but I love cute jammies, so I buy sleep tees and coordinating lounge pants.

I didn’t even notice the Converse! They look so cute with the jammies.

  5. Kezzie says:

Ha, I have ALWAYS wanted a blogger to pose in their pajamas- it had to be you!!! I love them but I disagree with you- I love my pajamas super big and baggy- can’t stand them being tight!!!x

    • mtsedwards says:

Ahahahaha! Seriously? Or is that a hint of facetiousness I hear? Regardless, I must admit to liking big and baggy pjs, but not at work when I have to retain a modicum of authority. Plus, it’s always my prime directive to make all Spirit Day themes look cute and work appropriate. Relatively speaking. ;p

So adorable. I feel like a nap. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xox.

  7. Anne the SpyGirl says:

You look very cozy in your PJs. Makes me want to return to bed! Thanks for linking!

  8. Val S says:

I could get on board with wearing pajamas to work. And I can now that I work at home! It must be weird to teach while dressed like that though?

I love all the fun prints on PJs, and the pink shoes (pumps? They look like Chucks) are perfect!

    • mtsedwards says:

Ha! Thanks for catching that! When I pre-wrote this post, I just copy/pasted last week’s item info. Have since changed it and yes, they are Chucks. 😀

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
