OOTD :: of red and green and travel days

Epic fail.

Seriously, how easy was this week’s Blogging Besties? “Mustard boyfriend cardigan, striped dress, brown tights, cognac boots, an arrow necklace or a souvenir piece of clothing or jewelry”. I mean, c’mon! Aside from the last bit (because I hardly ever travel and don’t normally buy souvenirs when I do), I have every single item on this list and could’ve totally recreated it whole hog.

But as we now know, this week is my school’s Spirit Week, and I guess that takes precedence. Or at least, that’s what I told myself when I did my photo shoot last weekend. Because today is Santa/Elf/Green and Red Day and I dressed appropriately.

But little did I know that life would conspire against me. And little did I know that I’d actually be ditching school today so I could get in a car with la famille and embark on the 6-hour drive to the Bay Area aka San Francisco to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday with all my sisters.

Yep, the full complement of us converged in one area. Even KS#1 from Boston. Fun, yeah?

But I certainly wasn’t gonna wear this outfit for an extensive car ride. So I could totally have done a Blogging Besties outfit after all.

That said, here’s a bit of TMI for you: my daughter was conceived nine and a half years ago during a second honeymoon/road trip travel week up the coast of California. And in the above pic, she’s hanging on me like a piece of clothing or jewelry. So does that count as a “souvenir” from a trip? I think it does.

Vive le vendredi!

  1. The best part of your TMI is how you asked me only 2 months before why I would ever have gotten pregnant AGAIN! And think of how many times you’ve been thankful for your daughter (when you preferred boys) and I for my son (when I preferred girls).

  2. I love this outfit so much that I don’t even care that it doesn’t match anything for Blogging Besties. I totally geek out over Christmas so I think this ensemble is amazing! Also, your daughter TOTALLY counts as a souvenir. Link-up anyways 🙂

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
