TARDIS Tuesday :: of minimizing stress

In an effort to rejuvenate my interest in my blog, I have decided not to worry so much about linkups.

Initially, I began participating in them to grow my readership, but in the past few months, I found myself caring less about the number of people who read me and more about the calibre of people who do. I guess the older I get, the more introverted I become. And so, I value a few close and sincere readers over several hundred fly-by-night, single-commenter ones.

That said, my participation in linkups this year will be less regimented and more spontaneous. And my imposed themes will be a lot more lax as well. Life’s too short for self-induced stress, right?

I will, however, continue religiously with TARDIS Tuesday because a) I’m such a total Whovian and b) it’s just too easy to not do. I do have a plethora of blue in my closet after all.

I am grateful for all and sundry who join me, but in light of my previous declarations, I can thoroughly empathize if you decide to pick and choose your Tuesdays.

No worries.

The little blue froggy will always be waiting…

  3. Link ups are hard for me because I suck at planning outfits in advance. And because I’m lazy. I agree that they can also be more stress than they’re worth too. I usually just do those that I can remember and easily put something together for; so not many. 😉

    • Ah, you are a far more honest person than I. I suppose laziness has a lot to do with my pulling back on linkup participation too.

    • Ah, Anne, not necessarily! Your linkup made me look at my closet in new lights and I created fabulous outfits because of it. That said, because of the fickle weather and my fickle, pre-menopausal (?) pysche, I would like the freedom to pick and choose what I wear for the week. Never fear, though! I still check in with you weekly to see what fun topic you have posted that could jog my creative juices. 🙂

  4. I wish I could find SOME way of commenting on Miss High Latitude’s posts, but she doesn’t seem to have any commenting function! Tis annoying!
Yeh, I am a lot more relaxed about linking up. I didn’t really link to network but because I liked the challenges but only do them when I can or it gets a bit ardous!
Liking your scarf combo- so who are you channelling today!?
    xx

    • I know, right? She totally has commenting disabled! Argh! ;p

“Arduous” is a good word for it. I like my new and improved approach to linkups better.

I’m channeling no one – just being lazy and doing blue as the TARDIS motif – but if you think I resemble a character of Whovian past, please let me know. 😀

  5. Sounds kind of loosey-goosey for you, Maricel. Good for you! Love your scarf and vest look – very similar to what I wore the other day, kind of preppy but ready for anything.

    • Yep, that’s what my sis said. As you can see, aside from today and perhaps Friday’s Blogging Besties with Whitney and Alex, I have no set themes for my outfits this week. So liberating!

      • I’m not going to be posting nearly as many outfits this year, and I already feel liberated! Posting almost every outfit last year helped me create a habit of putting effort into my appearance, but sometimes I just want to wear the same outfit twice in a week. 😉

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
