OOTD :: of casual Friday to the max

This week is brought to you by: “cobalt blue, olive green, printed blouse, skinny jeans, cargo vest, nude leather, geometric prints, and glitter/metallics”.

For your viewing pleasure, I give you: olive green, skinny jeans and a cargo vest.

The extra bits: Yeah, yeah, I bypassed cobalt blue this time around. I figure you all have had enough of my sporting my fave color on one day without having to subject you to another. That said, I admit there is a bit o’ blue on that plaid shirt. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.

I do appreciate Alex giving me the opportunity to utilize my long-sought-after but oft-forgotten cargo vest. It does go well with my olive green Chucks, which was the first thing I thought of when I read this week’s Blogging Besties pass it on list. I also promised you a London tee and I hope this one does not disappoint.

(I wonder if I can count either the graphic tee or the plaid button up as a “printed blouse”?)

Shout out to my son and his headphones for giving me an opportunity to incorporate a prop in today’s shoot. I think they go well with the ensemble’s vibe, yeah?

I must say that this has got to be my most dressed down outfit yet this year, but ask me if I care? Ah, cavalier attitude! A byproduct of a four-day work week.

Vive le vendredi!

Swit-swoo, I missed this one! So young and fun looking. And you know, Amy skirt, clearly. xx

  2. chessakat says:

So loving the layers! And I can’t believe how well your chucks and vest coodinate – level 10 fashionista!

    • mtsedwards says:

It really was serendipitous, but now that I’ve found the pairing, I may just end up remixing them both together in another outfit. ;p

  3. Patti says:

Those Chucks are sooooo great. They make me smile. xo

    • mtsedwards says:

I hadn’t realized how lucky I was to have scored them from Poshmark until everyone commented on the unique color. Yay for Mad Hunts! 😀

  4. I can’t believe how similar our outfits are this week right down to the location-inspired graphic tee! It might seem like a minor detail, but I really like the way you rolled your jean cuffs with the high-top Chucks!

This look is totally me! Love it! Casual cool at it’s best. Thanks so much for linking up with FUN FASHION FRIDAY!

  6. Plaid button downs, graphic tees, skinny jeans, and Chucks are some of my favorite things! Also, raindrops on roses. 😉

I’m confused about the olive skinnies. Is the color off in the photo? I do think the filter effects you are learning are cool!

    • mtsedwards says:

No, see there’s a comma after “olive green”. So I don’t mean “olive green skinny jeans” but “olive green, skinny jeans”, which means I’ve passed on the color olive green (as seen in my cargo vest and Chucks) and passed on the skinny jeans. Ah, the power of a comma! ;p

  8. Anne M Bray aka SpyGirl says:

And the headphones are TARDIS BLUE!!!!!!!!!!
The vest and Chucks are an awesome pairing.
The tee has a “blousy” fit (not tight) so there you go.

    • mtsedwards says:

Yep, the headphones are TARDIS blue but I felt it to ingenuous of me to point it out so I left it as an Easter egg for observant people to find. You, my dear, are very observant. LOL!

Thanks for approving the vest/Chucks combo. As I said, I feel a bit under-dressed in this ensemble but it’s Friday and I’m owning it…

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
