OOTD :: of St. Paddy’s, TARDIS Tuesday, and reconciling the two

So TARDIS Tuesday and “British, blue or Doctor Who” doesn’t quite cut it on St. Patrick’s Day.

After all, it’s more Irish, green or … well, has there ever been an Irish actor playing the Doctor? (Kezzie, wanna chime in?)

But yeah, you can see my dilemma here. My OCD-ness in wanting to connect all the dots pretty much commanded me to do something that would suit both my linkup and the holiday du jour.

Enter 9, stage right. The Ninth Doctor aka Christopher Eccleston was best known sporting utilitarian olive green and black but I’d already cosplayed him once before and we all know how I hate being derivative. That said, I only own this one olive green top so it had to be the base for today’s ensemble.

(I suppose I could’ve gone opposites and utilized olive green bottoms, which I have a few of. Hindsight is always twenty-twenty, eh?)

Black leather was a definite requirement, but I thought to sleek the look with this cropped scuba jacket rather than my usual moto. And in order to show off the socks, it had to be another Boohoo skater skirt, natch, this one in black, also natch.

And speaking of my socks – yep, they’re green. And shamrock-y. And argyle. So although argyle is Scottish, I think the other two cover me for St. Paddy’s. And their addition lends a bit of whimsy to an otherwise stark and Spartan ensemble.

I think I’m allowed to call this TARDIS Tuesday/St. Patrick’s Day mash-up a thorough success.

What about you, my friend? Got anything o’ the Irish on you that you wish to share? Do tell…

Hey there! Loving the argyle socks and the Chris Ecceleston look- that’s one I’d find hard- I don’t really do leather other than in shoes! Er- Irish actor. Not sure though I think Paul McGann has some Irish heritage in him!x

  2. Patti says:

Yes, a big success! The Doctors would give their blessings, and Saint P. looks down with a smile. xox

Very cute…and love the socks even if they are Scottish.

OK, I’m not going directly to work this morning but continuing East to come hunt down your classroom and steal your socks. Call me the Sock Monster.
Love the look! I think you need a scuba knife strapped to your leg. (School might frown on carrying a weapon, but IT’S FASHION!) You look ready for battle, in a good way.
I wore TARDIS and green yesterday, so I’ll post/link that.

Thought of you immediately when I saw these socks and HAD to purchase, of course. I think you’d be proud of me because I now have a modest collection of novelty socks, something I never thought I’d ever say but am now proud to, thanks to you! 🙂

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
