Allow me to appropriate today for my righteous purposes.

Initially, I was to feature my 52 Pick-me-up outfit today as per usual, but something happened at school on Friday that necessitated a quick wardrobe change. It’s a long, drama-full story that probably won’t interest my stylista readers, but suffice to say I had to wear black today in support of my students.

Sadly, black is the least photogenic color when all you’ve got is your backyard and an iPhone. Oh, and when you’ve gotta take emergency pics in the heat of the day and the sun isn’t cooperating, ruining your shots with shadows.

I took a detail pic of the sweater so you all can see the awesomesauceness of the ribbon fabric, but you really can’t see its drape. Or the fact that it’s semi-sheer quality does allow the red tank to show through. Or the fact that my pants are my favorite snakeskin skinnies.

So, yeah. Today, we use our imagination.

I hope my students appreciate my sartorial sacrifice.

  1. Hope your students or whoever was involved are ok. You look chic in whatever you wear my dear. You have panache. I know what you mean about black- it needs a certain background. Your wall works though!x

  2. Sorry about the drama – and not a happy one, I suppose. You’re a good supporter of your students – and BTW, ain’t nothing wrong with all-black, you look fab. xox

    • Black used to be my signature color (or lack thereof) until I discovered the brilliance of TARDIS blue. Many thanks for the compliment. 🙂

    • Of course you do. We both know how much you adore red. ;p And I know you love me in black so this is a win-win all around for you, eh?

    • Oh, LOL! Not at all! But I laugh out loud because I forgot to mention that I also took these pics sans makeup (thus the humungous shades) and without brushing my hair at all. This is what my hair looks like when I get out of bed in the morning. So allow me to appreciate the irony of your admiring it. ;p

    • Beause my brain is in anime mode, the only “Mama Rei” I can think of is the one from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Tee hee. And yes, Poshmark. Been debating whether I ought to just close shop since I’ve been buying more than I’ve sold. But glad you found me there. Social media ftw?

      • Because my brain is permanently entrenched in fashion, I made reference to Mama Rei as in Kawakubo 🙂 likewise guilty on PM, I probably spend everything I earn, with change. Le sigh.

  3. Well, I’m sorry about the drama that caused it.

But back to the subject at hand: it’s rilly rilly rilly cute. Love the peek-a-boo red tank. And the matching Chucks just make the whole thing. Well done!

    • Because everything looks better with Chucks. (Have you noticed I’ve been wearing them more and more lately, and not just for Fridays? I don’t know if that’s a good thing, a bad thing or just a thing…)

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
