This week is brought to you by: “pattern mixing, maxi skirt, flowy tank, denim jacket, sandals, stripes, and florals”.

For your viewing pleasure, I give you: pattern mixing, maxi skirt, flowy tank, denim jacket, stripes, and florals.

The extra bits: Okay, so I know that I’d been pushing the boundaries of the Blogging Besties mandate. After all, you’re really only supposed to pass on one element from the origin outfit, but recently, I’d been doubling or even tripling up. I guess that’s a testament to the accessibility of Alex and Whitney’s challenges that I’m able to do so.

But today trumps even my past efforts. I’ve basically recreated Alex’s look by utilizing six out of the seven elements. And I would’ve done a seven out of seven had this not been Friday and we all know every Friday is Chucks Friday for me.

Again, many thanks to the dynamic duo for this linkup. I never would’ve thought to pair this floral tank with this maxi skirt otherwise. In fact, I’d forgotten entirely I even owned this tank.

I also love how this linkup helps me shop my closet for all the pieces; I have yet to purchase a single thing to be compliant to their challenges. It only took me three years to go back to the initial purpose of this blog, eh? Better late than never!

Vive le vendredi!

P.S. Whitney is also doing a Create28: Lovely Spring Looks linkup and although I may not be able to fully participate (not OOTD-ing over the weekends and all), I can definitely try to give it a go as best as I can. Today’s prompt was “spring jacket” and I think this outfit fits that bill quite nicely.

:: Just the facts, ma’am ::
Tank – Tucker for Target
Jacket – eBay
Skirt – apostrophe
Shoes – Chucks

  1. You are surely outdoing yourself these days but I love it! Isn’t it crazy that we can get so bored with our wardrobes but a little outside inspiration can help us come up with totally new combinations! That’s why I love this blogging thing!

    • Truly! It’s just too bad most of my good blogging buddies live so far away or I’d be suggesting a clothes swap every month!

    • Which goes a long way in proving Chucks make everything better because on any other given outfit utilizing maxis, my fun-sized self would’ve felt stumpy in anything less than 3-inch footwear.

  2. Well played, and I’m glad you are utilizing your closet and not mad-hunting for anything. Save those pennies! You have art to buy!!!! (Hehheh)

Speaking of buying, I’ve been driving around with the Snow Queen Ice Blue Chinese Jacket (it deserves a title) all week to get it to the dry cleaners. I’ll confess that I was eyeing it last night on the commute home thinking — “I could chop off the sleeves and make it a vest and still wear it…” (This is my new solution for everything that my fat lymphedema arm can’t squeeze into — vesting. I thank those muscle-bound dudes on those manly reality shows that ALL cut the sleeves off their denim/ chambray/ flannel shirts).
Not to worry — you’ll get a chance to get it. I think it’s too small around the waist too. I must face the fact — IT’S TOO SMALL. Sigh.

Back to you — love this combo. It tickles my fancy in so many ways.
Going to check out the Create28. Because I SO need to be doing ANOTHER daily project. Maybe on Instagram?

    • If you wish to hang on to the Chinese jacket for nostalgia’s sake, I wouldn’t mind at all.I know what that feels like – to cull a piece then harbor sorrowful regrets later. And who knows? You may even end up repurposing it to your satisfaction. Of course, should you still decide to give it up, you know I’ll give it a good home. Then again, we still don’t know if it’ll fit me, eh?

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
