I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to let go of winter just quite yet.

I know my non-West Coast blogger buds are reading this with horror and not a little bit of venom right now, especially after the hellacious snows the East Coast (and elsewhere in the world?) experienced last year, but we all know how much I love the cold and all the fun outfits I create when the temps dip below 70.

Grass is always greener, I suppose.

As my last hurrah for winter, then, I present to you a fabulous acquisition from Poshmark – this velvet vintage coat circa 1970s that is a perfectly yummy shade of blue. I’m betting it’ll look completely seasonally inappropriate when the time comes for me to actually wear this outfit, but my ten-day forecast predicts it to be partly cloudy today, so I decided to chance it when I did my photo shoots last weekend.

I’m loving it paired with another Poshmark find. This dress has all the things I adore – polka dots, a shift silhouette, and that flattering neckline that I have yet to identify but which does wonders for my shoulders. Granted, I’ll probably be too shy to actually bare my arms at school, and the a/c in my classroom will allow me to keep my coat on, but we’ll know what it looks like on its own, won’t we?

So I’m blue today, my friends. And you? Pick your poison for the linkup and do tell…

  2. This might be my favorite outfit ever. That coat is swank! And that dress is also everything I love in a dress. I have a similar one, but sans polkadots. I love it!

    • My filtering job doesn’t even do the coat justice. It’s actually a lot more electric blue in person. I just took these pics at the wrong time of day and the lighting was rough…

  3. Not just horror and venom but a (mock) dropped jaw, apoplectically bulging eyes, and spluttering disbelief! Over here in New England–where we had our first 60-degree day just this week–I haven’t even had my coffee yet on this Tuesday morning, yet I have taken to the minuscule keyboard on my phone to heartily protest the phrase “how much I love the cold . . . when the temps dip below 70.” Nay, lady, nay! Consider the proverbial gauntlet to have been dropped at your sandal-clad feet and an invitation extended to you to pack up your, ahem, winter clothes and come visit me in Vermont in February. You will no longer be wearing plaid flannel ironically! 😉

    • Ah, but you see, if I truly lived in Vermont, I’d have invested in a plethora of coats and flannels and thermals and sweaters and cashmere and leather gloves and woolen scarves and… 😜. I think you get my drift.

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
