I am extremely lucky to have a work environment that does not dictate I dress like an OL.

Actually, come to think of it, very few schools require such formal attire, short of private/prep schools, perhaps? Still, I do believe my administration is pretty tolerant of the staff dress code which has allowed me creative license with a majority of my outfits (as long-time followers are well aware).

So it is with not a little bit of irony that I give you today’s offering.

Don’t I look professional? Don’t I look ready to storm a board room? I think it’s the combo of power pencil skirt, chiffon blouse tucked in, and sky-high stilettos.

Being me, of course, I needed to un-mumsy it with the addition of a moto jacket and an extravagant statement necklace. And the pencil skirt is made a little less “private sector” by the bold lace pattern, courtesy of Create28’s daily prompt.

The whole vibe still screams parent-teacher conference to me, but hey, I’ve got 40 more days of school. I think I’m just gonna have fun with my time remaining and try all kinds of crazy before I begin my summer hiatus in earnest.

  1. My first impression of this outfit was you do look so classy and professional! I love the pops of you that come through, though! I rarely get this dressed up for work. On the one hand, it’s nice to have some flexibility to the dress code but on the other hand, it IS fun to dress up sometimes!

    • Yep, this was definitely an anomaly for me. But since we no loner have final presentations, I have no other appropriate time for dress-up but I didn’t want my fancy clothes to molder in my closet. ;p

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
