OOTD :: of superheroes and sequins

What do you think of when I say “hero”?

Do you go the fiction route and think spandex and super capes? Or do you go the noble route and think firefighters and military personnel?

I had to play some serious word association with this when I saw it was Anne’s 52 Pick-me-up theme this week. After all, although it is the tail end of the school year and I’d threatened that “anything goes”, I still have to retain some modicum of dignity, and cosplaying as a superhero or wearing a uniform just wasn’t gonna happen.

So I pondered. And I Pinned. And ultimately, I came up with sequins.

Because they’re spangly and sparkly and shiny and showy and that’s what heroes are, whether literally or metaphorically.

How serendipitous, then, that I’d just recently Mad Hunted sequined skirts and ended up with four.

Damn you, Poshmark!

And how doubly serendipitous that today is May the 4th which just begs for me to sport my Han and Chewie graphic tee. Because Han and Chewie are pretty damned heroic in my book! Brilliant, if I do say so meself!

May the fourth be with you! Always…

    • Well, it’s the only tee I’ve got that proudly displays my Star Wars fandom so it wasn’t so much a choice than it was a default. LOL. And yes, you will see ALL the skirts this week. Keep watching…

    • Hope you don’t get sick of them by week’s end. I plan to wear all my acquisitions in a row this week.

    • Yep, Han really did steal the show, didn’t he? Harrison Ford’s scorn notwithstanding, of course.

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
