OOTD :: of saucy, striped shirtdresses

The stripes are blue. And the black moto jacket is vaguely reminiscent of the 9th Doctor.

Two out of three ain’t bad, my friends, especially as we wind down the school year – and thus my work year – and get ready for two months of sartorial sloth.

I have yet to decide whether I want to post OOTDs regularly during my summer hols or whether I aim to refocus on my novel and only do outfit entries for my favorite linkups (Anne’s 52 Pick-me-up, Whitney and Alex’s Blogging Besties and TARDIS Tuesdays, of course). Anyone wanna chime in on your personal preference?

And while you ponder, how about a woot-woot for this superfun frock from the MILLY collection @ Kohl’s? It came out the same weekend as the Target/Lilly Pulitzer collab and I spent a languidly luxurious afternoon browsing a relatively empty store and taking my time with well-stocked racks. I was smitten by the various prints – especially the ones on this skirt and this dress  – but ultimately settled for this blue striped dress for its versatility and because I don’t really own a shirt dress with a fit and flare skirt.

It does require a bit of ironing else it’d lose its crisp, sharp vibe, but I still adore it. I can so see myself styling it with a red cardi for 4th of July or with a lemon yellow sweater when days turn cooler.

What about you? Have you got anything British, blue or Doctor Who today? Do tell…

  1. Navy and white is so fresh looking! Love you in the shirtwaist look.
Give yourself a well deserved summer break on the daily outfit slog. We’ll stick around!

    • Thank you! I didn’t think of Clara really when I got it but I guess the pics and poses lend themselves to the Clara vibe.

    • I was thinking the nautical look was too easy and wanted to challenge myself, but yes. I can also definitely use this dress for 4th of July, right?

  2. Ohhh! I love your Milly, too! It’s so different from mine but wonderful all the same! Here is some information to consider regarding your decision to post OOTD during the summer: Alex and I will take a break from Blogging Besties in July…but I will be doing another Create28 challenge with Carrie (and a new friend) that month. I can send you the list of prompts if you want. Just shoot me an e-mail!

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
