This week is brought to you by: “hot pink + cobalt + button down + comfy skirt + belt + (patterned) flats”.

For your viewing pleasure, I give you: hot pink + comfy skirt.

The extra bits: This probably being the last Blogging Besties participation for me till next school year, you would think I’d jump all over that hot pink/cobalt combo. And normally, you’d be right. But if you recall, I’m trying to clear out my iPhone and I’d already used up my cobalt outfit for TARDIS Tuesday.

Instead, then, you get the ensemble I created specifically for Anne’s 52 Pick-me-up topic of the week: Surfin’ Safari. And although Lilly Pulitzer is more Florida resort than Cali beach bunny, I’m calling this skirt bright and flirty and neon enough for even Annette Funicello. That it’s got pink accents which I mimicked with the hot pink “M” of the sweater and the hot pink tongues of the Chucks makes this whole outfit do double duty as compliant both for Anne and for Whitney and Alex.

Vive le vendredi!

    • Is it awful of me to admit that I bought the shoes in anticipation of a Lilly Pulitzer haul form Target? And is it even more awful to admit that, after being underwhelmed by the Lilly for Target collection, I immediately went on eBay and found this skirt?

  1. Let’s go surfing now! At least there are waves in California – my surfer husband here in Florida has to wait for them like Charlie Brown waits for the Pumpkin : > Very cute and fresh look, M. xox

  2. Those Chucks! Gnarly, dude.
I first came to California at age 18, a naive upstate New Yorker who thought she knew everything. Starting college at UC Santa Barbara, I ended up in Isla Vista, renting a “furnished apartment” that was really a motel room. Was THAT ever depressing! I met a surfer one day while walking to campus (I think he was still in high school). He talked in total surfer lingo and I had no clue to what he was saying. “Gnarly”? Is this “gnarly” good or bad? Hahahaha.

    Thanks for linking.
The new 52 Pick-me-up prompts may just inspire some different sorts of linking from you — like that photographic treasure hunt thing you did last year. Resistance is futile.

    • I could never think of resisting you anyway, m’dear. ;p Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
