OOTD :: of pattern mixing and not being so damned predictable

This week is brought to you by: “blue hues, mint, cobalt, a peplum, a (J.Crew) mini skirt, stripes or sling backs”.

For your viewing pleasure, I give you: a (J.Crew) mini skirt, stripes and sling backs.

The extra bits: Whitney just made it too easy for my re-entry into Blogging Besties this week. Because c’mon – blue hues? Cobalt? No-brainer, right?

But I’d already created and taken photos of my outfits for the week before her challenge posted. And I’d already used up my cobalt ensemble for TARDIS Tuesday. Thank goodness I had one more outfit in my pre-planned arsenal that fit the bill.

Yes, the skirt may not be mini in some circles, but it’s mini enough in my profession without being entirely scandalous. And it’s unabashedly striped. Throw in a pair of booties whose construction loosely lend themselves to the moniker “slingbacks”, and I had myself a presentable entry for the linkup that’s not predictable of me at all.

Add to the entire mix another one of my pop art-esque acquisitions for some bold pattern mixing, and the happiness factor goes sky-high.

Vive le vendredi!

  1. How sweet is that top?! And how sweet is it that you and I can wear skirts that would be minis on other chicks, but they’re the perfect length on us??
    PS
I checked my comments and the “you must be registered and signed in to comment box” wasn’t checked so try it again sometime and let me know. Maybe it’s some weird glitch…:)
