OOTD :: of Spirit Week 2015 and Pajama Day

Lucky for us all, this month’s theme for T3 is a freebie. So grab your fave book, your next TBR book, your about-to-expire-and-must-read-before-it’s-overdue-at-the-library book, or any book for that matter and get to creating an outfit!

I feel doubly lucky for the liberty the prompt affords because this week also happens to be our first Spirit Week of the year. (Actually, I did a search and found that the first Spirit Week of the school year always coincides with T3. Go figure…) So I don’t have to pull my hair out trying to meet two sartorial challenges this time around.

Today is my absolute fave day: Pajama Day! I strongly hinted at it and my new class rep complied by lobbying to get it for me. I think he and I are going to get along swimmingly this year; he’s got my back.

Sadly, the weather is still not complying with my cool-weather hopes and dreams, so my grand plans of buying new pjs for the occasion were almost foiled. After all, I simply couldn’t justify a flannel purchase when I’d be sweltering in them by mid-day. Not a cute look at all.

But during a Target run for allergy meds last week, Aly wandered into the pj department – I swear, that girl has a pajama addiction; she’d rather I buy her new pjs than a new outfit! – and grabbed several pairs of onesies, peremptorily insisting I come into the dressing room with her “just to try them on”.

Several minutes and much laughter later, we ended up buying matching panda pjs then spent the rest of the day in an impromptu photo session that had us in stitches even more. Too much fun!

Now let’s hope my students won’t make too much fun of me in my weather-inappropriate panda ensemble. (Hey, at least black is slimming, right?)

P.S. Pockets! Panda pajamas with pockets! Bliss! And because I am so, so visible as well as being thoroughly enamored – and thus passionate – about my newest acquisition, I feel comfortably justified in linking with both Patti and Anne today.

  1. Style. This defines it. Completely. And Chucks as panda feet because of course. Or flip flops. Endless ways to style these jammies/jumpsuits/Plushie covergirl OsOTD.
    Awwwh. She’s clearly your daughter!
So glad to have stopped by after my hiatus.

    • People tell me to enjoy it while I can because then she’ll be a teenager and things will go to shit. But I’m fortunate enough to work on a site where kids who respect and get along with their parents are more the norm than the exception, so as long as I cultivate a strong foundational relationship with my daughter, I think I might be okay later on.

    • Ah, if you can get thee to a Target, they’re there for the taking! Aren’t you gonna need something warm and fleecy when you move?

    • LOL. I can’t take credit for “swag pandas”; that’s all Aly’s doing. She astounds me every day with her quick and quirky wit.

    • And that’s the pic that started it all. This was to be a typical :: MCC :: photo shoot but it ended in an impromptu pandafest because Aly at her cutest is my kryptonite.

  2. Fierce pandas! (Sounds like a good band name). The photos with you and Aly are too adorable for words. (Inside of LP cover. Yes, the Fierce Pandas go old school and release all their material on vinyl).
Thanks for linking! The PASSION shines!

    • Fierce Pandas! That’s even better than The Angry Koalas (my husband’s punk band name that has over a hundred members to its credit). I bet if i made Aly create a band logo, she’d be all over that like white on rice!

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
