OOTD :: of moccasins and even more British swag

Now that Kezzie has set me straight about plaid vs. tartan, I feel thoroughly comfortable and confident sporting my numerous tartan pieces for TARDIS Tuesday as I pay homage to the “British” part of my linkup’s “British, blue or Doctor Who” tagline.

But because I do have a flair for excess, I decided to heap even more Anglophile madness into this outfit and took my new trolley tee for a spin. For all you fast fashion followers out there, it looks familiar because it’s a piece from the Thakoon collection for Kohl’s. I’d bought several of the pieces, but the price point – even on super Kohl’s sale – was not worth it, so the only things I kept were the two tees. Don’t be surprised if the other makes its own appearance here next week.

I think the tee was worth it’s $28 retail price tag because my linebacker-shouldered, ample-breasted self has as much trouble finding the perfect tee as most women have in finding the perfect pair of jeans. Yeah, that impossible. So when I stumble on one that’s substantial and not paper-thin, that drapes over my lumps and bumps without looking like a boxy tent, that has cunning details like a cheeky graphic and a contrasting color neckline to elevate it from just being a plain old tee, then you know my pocketbook will be that much lighter for the finding.

I highly recommend these chinos from Old Navy. I know most of my style blogger friends swear by the Pixie pants, but after I shrunk my cobalt pair to the point that it’s now only good with oversized sweaters to mask my muffin, I’m less enthusiastic about that line. These chinos, on the other hand, are loads more forgiving on my body. And plaid. ‘Nuff said.

The shoes are not moccasins per se, but they’re the closest I can get and they go well with the rest of the outfit and I’m gonna call them compliant for Create28 today.

And you, my friends? Got anything British, blue or Doctor Who for us today? Do click on the blue froggy below and tell…

Ha, I love it though I sound like a bit of a pedantic cow from your comment-it was supposed to reassure Whitney that tartan was totally British!
And since I am such a stickler for British colloquialisms to be adhered to, that is. BUS my dear, not a trolley, a Routemaster from pre 2000!!! 🙂
    Loving the British overload!x

  2. The pants are super cute and flattering! Pixie pants don’t work on me at all so I might have to give these a try! And I’m glad that you are finding graphic tees that suit you 🙂

Yes, try on a pair and tell me if they suit and it’s not just an anomaly of me. I always feel a bit lonely when I go against the style blogger grain on tried-and-true things (pumpkin spice latte, anyone?).

So so cool! I love a tee with a personality. I was disappointed in the “underwater Doctor” episode this week – what did you think? xox

Tell me all about it! I'm listening...
