wanna linkup?

TARDIS Tuesdays

tardistuesdaySo this is TARDIS Tuesdays. I hope you don’t find the name of the linkup too daunting or obscure; I just like alliteration is all.

Because the parameters are really simple. Every Tuesday, wear something inspired by Doctor Who: the Doctor (fez, bowtie, cowboy hat, pinstripes), his adversaries (metallics, angels), his Companions (Clara has the best outfits; just do a Pinterest search).

Of course, you can take inspiration from the TARDIS itself, which means as long as you’re sporting some sort of blue in your ensemble, you are eligible to join in!

Please include a link to :: My Closet Catalogue :: somewhere in your post so you can be an ambassador of fun.

T3…or Thoughtful Third Thursday

t3
What happens when two bloggers in love with both books and clothes get together and collude? Why, a literary link-up is born, of course!

If you are of a like mind and are enamored of words and style as much as we are, then come join A Bibliophile’s Style and My Closet Catalogue in Thoughtful Third Thursday, our joint hosted link up.

The rules of our game are simple:

1. Every third Thursday of the month, tell us what you’re currently reading** (novel, non-fiction, short story, magazine, blog, manga, etc.), include a quote and/or a synopsis, and an outfit that you feel corresponds to your chosen quote.

2. Click on the “Add your link” button provided and follow the easy-peasy steps. If you’ve got a blog, make sure you’re linking your specific blog post, not your blog’s main page. It makes finding your entry ever so much easier. You’re welcome to link any post — old posts included!

Also, you don’t have to be a fashion blogger to participate. If you’re camera shy (Maricel used to be!) or lean more towards bibliophile than style (that’s Selah for ya!), you can get creative with a Polyvore ensemble, or draw a sketch. Or perhaps a collage or diorama?

Almost any image with a URL can be added so you don’t even have to own a blog to join in the fun. (Yes, I’m talking to you, Instagram/Facebook folks!)

3. Please be kind and link back to either My Closet Catalogue or A Bibliophile’s Style somewhere in your post. We’ve got supercool badges for ya if you’re so inclined.

4. Have fun and let the good quotes roll!

We’ll post the links on our respective blogs on said third Thursday of every month then leave it live for an entire week so as many people as possible can participate. No rush or anything. After all, it is called Thoughtful Third Thursday (say that ten times fast!)

** We’re introducing themes to T3. Instead of always focusing on our most current reads, we’ll offer up a variety of prompts. Our hope is that having these themes will make it easier for everyone to get sartorially inspired, and not feel rushed to read something just for T3 (or not link up at all because you’re feeling let down by your current read 😦  ).

The themes for the next few months are as follows:

June 2014 – Favorite Childhood Read
July 2014 – Favorite Villain
August 2014 – Freebie (use your Current Read, or create your own theme – just don’t be surprised if we borrow it later 🙂 )

September 2014 – Best OR Worst Mandatory High School Read
October 2014 – Fear Factor: a book that gives/gave you the chills
November 2014 – Freebie

December 18, 2014 – Best OR Worst Read of 2014
January 15, 2015 – Favorite Literary Man (Thanks to Val at Muse Fondue for this idea!)
February 19, 2015 – Freebie

March 19, 2015 – Marching On (a book you had to slog through to finish and/or a series you marathoned)
April 16, 2015 – April Showers: A Book That Made You Cry
May 21, 2015 – Freebie
