5.14.14Hullo, Wordless Wednesday!

Thank you for allowing me to play at being an Italian vixen with my tucked in top and emphasized waist.

Please forgive some words today as I continue sharing quotes from my fascinating T3 book.

The profound desire for something new perhaps is linked with the strong urge we have to be alive, just to be living. Unconsciously, we understand that to live is to be in perpetual motion, and motion propels change. Fashion is always moving; its tendency to abandon abruptly a particular hemline, or color or style of jacket, or even a whole way of thinking about how women dress, getting rid of hats and gloves and pearls – fashion’s maddening short-term memory takes you farther and farther away from the past…

Time past, time present, and time future are encapsulated in what we wear, our mutable identities constantly finding expression in a dress or a pair of shoes.

Pssst! Hey, you! Have you got your T3 outfit going on for tomorrow?! Pass it on!

OOTD :: of Monday metamorphosis

monday rest

Gave you two option for comfy footwear here. Pick your poison.

JMC said she wore jeans “every. single. damn. day” and she didn’t sound too thrilled about it.

Now, I’m not one to defend routine/monotony, but as a working mom, I do so look forward to weekends when I can shlep around in my boyfriend jeans. Perhaps JMC didn’t mean to disparage jeans per se; maybe she just needs a jean reboot.

And since I’ve already talked about wearing items more than once before laundering, I feel no shame about revealing that I intend to remix my fave pair of boyfriend jeans for the next three days this week. Why? Well, a) to prove to JMC that jeans every. single. damn. day can be fun and b) because I’m still on vacay, people, and I’m feeling extremely lazy.

Today, then, we begin with jeans and that all-time wardrobe staple: the Breton shirt. Every gal should own an iteration or three of this top because not only is it extremely comfortable and easy care (most are cotton or cotton blend, JMC!), it’s one step above a regular tee and can easily morph you from homebound hausfrau to errand running ace in a matter of seconds.

Some mommies might cringe at the sight of any sort of heel, but I SWEAR that these are like wearing flats.

All it takes is switching out footwear, donning an infinity scarf (a busy fashionista mom’s best friend), and half tucking that tee and you’re ready to grab the groceries and pick up the kiddies while looking cas and polished at the same time. If you’re feeling sassy and/or chilly, throw on a utility jacket for that third layer and now you’ve ramped up your look even more.

Now wasn’t that easy-peasy?

NOTE: It was super gusty outside (25mph winds) so I’m trying a new space for my pics. Sadly, I’ve realized that outdoor light is best, and my shots are sub-par, even after tweaking them in Photoshop. Ah, well. Y’all get the point.
